एक मित्र ने पूछा है कि यह अहंकार भी तो प्रकृति से ही पैदा होता है, तो इसको हटाने की क्या जरूरत है ?
लाओत्से नहीं कहता कि हटाओ। और लाओत्से यह भी नहीं कहता कि अहंकार प्रकृति से पैदा नहीं होता है। सब बीमारियां भी प्रकृति से ही पैदा होती हैं। जो कुछ भी पैदा होता है, प्रकृति से पैदा होता है। लाओत्से इतना ही कहता है कि अगर अहंकार की बीमारी को पकड़ोगे, तो दुःख पाओगे। अगर दुःख पाना हो, तो मजे से पकड़ो।
लेकिन आदमी अदभुत है। वह पकड़ता अहंकार को है और पाना चाहता है आनंद। तब लाओत्से कहता है, तुम गलत बात कर रहे हो।
एक आदमी को मरना है, तो जहर पी ले। जहर भी प्रकृति से ही पैदा होता है। लेकिन वह आदमी कहे कि जहर प्रकृति से पैदा होता है, जहर तो मैं पीऊंगा, क्योंकि प्रकृति से पैदा होता है; लेकिन मरना मैं नहीं चाहता। तब फिर वह कठिनाई में पड़ेगा।
लाओत्से कहता है, मरना हो, तो मजे से जहर पी लो और मर जाओ। न मरना हो, तो फिर जहर मत पीओ। मरने की घटना भी
प्राकृतिक है, जहर का पीना भी प्राकृतिक है। लेकिन निर्णय तुम्हारे हाथ में है कि तुम मरना चाहते हो कि नहीं मरना चाहते।
अहंकार प्राकृतिक है। लेकिन उसकी पीड़ा, उसके नर्क को भोगना हो, तो आदमी भोग सकता है। न भोगना हो, न भोगे। आदमी के हाथ में है कि वह अहंकार के प्राकृतिक बीज को बृक्ष बनाए या न बनाए । लाओत्से नहीं कहता कि अहंकार को हटा दो। वह आपसे कहता है कि अगर दुःख न चाहते हो, तो अहंकार से हटना होगा। अगर दुःख चाहते हैं, तो अहंकार को और बढ़ाओ। हम उलटे हैं। हम चाहते वह हैं जो अहंकार से नहीं मिलेगा और अहंकार को भी नहीं हटाना चाहते हैं। इस दुविधा में हमारे प्राण संतापग्रस्त हो जाते हैं।

A friend has asked that even this ego is born from nature, so what is the need to remove it?
Laotse does not say remove. And Laotse does not even say that ego is not born of nature. All diseases also arise from nature. Whatever is born is born of nature. Lao Tzu says this much that if you catch the disease of ego, you will get sorrow. If you want to suffer, then catch it.
But the man is amazing. He catches ego and wants to get pleasure. Then Lao Tzu says, you are talking wrong.
If a man has to die, drink poison. Poison also originates from nature. But the man says that poison is born from nature, I will drink poison, because it is born from nature; But I do not want to die. Then he will be in trouble again.
Lao Tzu says, if you want to die, drink poison and enjoy it. Do not drink poison if you do not want to die. Even death
It is natural, drinking poison is also natural. But the decision is in your hands whether you want to die or not.
Ego is natural. But if he has to suffer his pain, his hell, then man can suffer. Do not suffer, do not suffer. It is in the hands of man to make or not make the natural seed of ego a tree. Lao Tzu does not say remove the ego. He tells you that if you do not want sorrow, then ego will have to be removed. If you want unhappiness, then increase the ego further. We are inverted. We want one who will not get through the ego and also does not want to remove the ego. In this dilemma our souls get miserable.
