अस्तित्व स्त्रैण है। इसका अर्थ यह है कि अस्तित्व में जो भी प्रकट होता है, अस्तित्व में पहले से छिपा है–एक। जैसा मैंने कहा,स्त्री में जो भी पैदा होगा, वह सब पहले से ही छिपना है। वह अपने जन्म के साथ लेकर आती है सब। उसमें कुछ नया एडीशन नहीं होता।

और जिस दिन स्त्री बेचैन होती है, उस दिन उसको चैन में लाना फिर बहुत मुश्किल है। क्योंकि वह बिलकुल अप्राकृतिक है उसका
बेचैन होना। इसलिए स्त्री बेचैन नहीं होती, सीधी पागल होती है। यह आप जान कर हैरान होंगे कि स्त्री या तो शांत होती है या पागल हो जाती है; बीच में नहीं ठहरती,ग्रेडेशेंस नहीं हैं। पुरुष न तो शांत होता है इतना, न इतना पागल होता है; बीच में काफी डिग्रीज हैं उसके पास। अशांत की डिग्रीज में वह डोलता रहता है। बड़ी से बड़ी अशांति में भी वह पागल नहीं हो जाता; और बड़ी से बड़ी शांति में भी वह बिलकुल शांत नहीं हो जाता।
नीत्शे ने बहुत विचार की बात कही है। उसने कहा है कि जहां तक मैं समझता हूं, बुद्ध जैसे व्यक्ति में स्त्रैण तत्व ज्यादा रहे होंगे।
बुद्ध को वूमेनिश कहा है नीत्शे ने। और मैं मानता हूं कि इसमें एक गहरी समझ है। सच यह है कि जब कोई पुरुष भी पूरी तरह
शांत होता है, तो स्त्रैण हो जाता है। हो ही जाएगा। हो जाएगा इसलिए कि इतना शांत हो जाएगा कि वह जो पुरुष की अनिवार्य बेचैनी थी, वह जो अनिवार्य अशांति थी,अनिवार्य तनाव था, वह जो टेंशन था पुरुष के अस्तित्व का, वह खो जाएगा।
