कहते हैं, परम कारुणिक हैं। जीसस के भक्त कहते हैं कि उनका आना ही इसलिए हुआ कि लोगों को दया करके वे उनके दुःख से
छुटकारा दिला दें। कृष्ण के भक्त कहते हैं कि जब भी दुःख होगा तब वे दया करके आएंगे और लोगों को मुक्त कर लेंगे। हम तो
यही जानते रहे हैं अब तक कि संत सदय होते हैं। लेकिन लाओत्से कहता है, संत भी सदय नहीं होते। क्योंकि संत वही है, जिसने प्रकृति के आतंरिक तत्व के साथ अपनी एकता साध ली है। नहीं तो वह संत नहीं है। अगर प्रकृति ऐसी है, अगर अस्तीत्व ऐसा है की सदय नहीं है, तो संत कैसे सदय हो सकते हैं ! संत
का अर्थ ही है, जो अस्तित्व के सत्य को उपलब्ध हो गया, जिसने सत्य के साथ एकता साध ली। अगर सत्य ही सदय नहीं है, तो संत कैसे सदय हो सकते हैं! क्योंकि संत का अर्थ ही यह है कि जो सत्य के साथ एक हो गया।
संत सदय नहीं होते! तत्काल हमारे मन में द्वंद्व खड़ा हो जाता है, कठोर होते होंगे।
नहीं, कठोर भी नहीं होते। न कठोर होते हैं, न विनम्र होते हैं; द्वन्द्व के बाहर होते हैं। वे जो करते हैं, इसलिए नहीं कि आपके ऊपर
