लाओत्से कहता है, प्रकृति ऐसा व्यवहार करती है, जैसे हम सब घास के कुत्ते हों। वह हमसे उत्प्रेरित नहीं होती। इसमें बड़ी गहराई है, बड़ी गहरी अंतर्दृष्टि है। प्रकृति के लिए हम घास के कुत्ते हैं ही। मेटाफोरिकली ही नहीं, प्रतीकात्मक ही नहीं,वस्तुतः। प्रकृति के लिए
हम घास के कुत्ते से ज्यादा होंगे भी क्या ?
जहां तक हमारा संबंध है, वहां तक हम घास के भरे हुए पुतले ही हैं। आप में से घास निकाल लिया जाए , पीछे कुछ भी नहीं बचता फिर। शरीर हमारा सिर्फ घास है। भोजन है, पानी है, हड्डी-मांस-मज्जा है। वह सब हमारा शरीर का जोड़ है। और हमें तो जरा भी पता नहीं है की शरीर से ज्यादा भी हमारे भीतर कुछ है। शरीर ही हम हैं। इस शरीर को खोल कर देखें, तो सिवाय घास के और कुछ भी न मिलेगा।
वैज्ञानिक कहते हैं, कोई चार-पांच रुपए का सामान है आदमी के भीतर। कुछ एल्युमिनियमहै, कुछ तांबा है, कुछ लोहा है, कुछ फासफोरस है। ज्यादा तो पानी है, कोई अस्सी प्रतिशत से ऊपर। फिर मिट्टी है। और यह सब घास से ही बना है। जिसे हम जीवन कहते हैं आज, अगर हम वैज्ञानिक से पूछें, तो वह कहता है, यह सब घास का ही विकास है, वेजिटेबल। यह उसका ही विकास है। और आज भी हम उसी पर जीते हैं। एक आदमी साल भर में एक टन घास शरीर में भरता है, तब जी पाता है। चौबीस घंटे घास डालनी पड़ती है। अपनी-अपनी घास अलग-अलग हो सकती है। उससे हम जीते हैं। वही हमारा ईंधन है। वही हमारा अस्तित्व हमारा शरीर है।
तो लाओत्से अगर कहता है, प्रकृति हमें घास के कुत्तों से ज्यादा नहीं जानती, तो नाराज होने की जरूरत नहीं है। हम भी नहीं जानते
हैं कि हम इससे ज्यादा हैं। प्रकृति ऐसा ही जाने, यह उचित है; लेकिन हम भी ऐसा ही जानें, यह उचित नहीं है। पर हमें कोई पता
नहीं है: हमारे भीतर के शरीर के अलावा भी कुछ हम में है? कुछ मिट्टी को छोड़ कर भी ? सुनते हैं आत्मा की बात, समझ तो नहीं
पाते हैं। क्योंकि समझ हम वही पा सकते हैं, जो हमारा जानना बन जाए !
लेकिन और अर्थो में भी हम घास के जैसे ही हैं।

Lao Tzu says, nature behaves like we are all dogs of grass. She does not inspire us. It has great depth, great insight. We are grass dogs for nature. Not metaphorically, not just symbolic, in fact. For nature Will we be more than a grass dog?
As far as we are concerned, we are only full of grass mannequins. Remove the grass from you, nothing is left behind. Our body is just grass. There is food, there is water, there is bone-meat-marrow. All of that is the sum of our body. And we have no idea that we have anything more than the body. We are the body. If you open this body, nothing will be found except grass. Scientists say, there is an item of four to five rupees within a man. Some is aluminum, some is copper, some is iron, some is phosphorus. There is more water, above eighty percent. Then there is the soil. And it is all made of grass. What we call life today, if we ask the scientist, he says, it is all grass growth, vegetable. This is his development. And we still live on it today. A man fills a ton of grass in the body in a year, then gets a living. The grass has to be planted round the clock. Your grass may vary. We live by that. That is our fuel. Our body is our body.
So if Lao Tzu says that nature does not know us more than grass dogs, then there is no need to be angry. We don't even know
Are that we are more than this. Let nature be like that, it is appropriate; But let us know the same, it is not appropriate. But we have an idea Isn't there anything in our body other than ours? Except some soil? Listen to the soul, do not understand Find it. Because we can get the understanding that becomes our knowledge!
But in other ways also we are like grass.
