लाओत्से की दृष्टि में समय का कोई व्यवधान नहीं है। अभी हो जाएं खाली ; यहीं खोल दें मुट्ठी।
लाओत्से यह भी कहता है कि भराव कभी भी शांत नहीं हो सकता। आधा घड़ा भरा है, आवाज होती है; पौना घड़ा भरा है, आवाज होती
है। लाओत्से कहता है, कितना ही घड़ा भरा हो, आवाज होती ही रहेगी। सिर्फ खाली घड़ा शांत हो जाता है। क्यों ?
आप कहेंगे, कभी तो ऐसा हो सकता है कि घड़ा बिलकुल ही भरा हो और आवाज न हो।
लेकिन लाओत्से नहीं मानता। लाओत्से कहता है कि घड़ा भरा हो, तो एक बात तय हो गई की दो चीजें हैं: घड़ा है,और जो चीज भरी
है। और जहां द्वैत है, वहां पूर्ण शांति नहीं हो सकती।

But Lao Tzu does not agree. Lao Tzu says that if the pot is full, one thing is decided that there are two things: the pot is there, and the thing which is full
is. And where there is duality, there cannot be complete peace.
