लाओत्से ने प्रार्थना के लिए कोई जगह नहीं है। लाओत्से कहता है, कोई सवाल ही नहीं है; तुम्हारे पास जितना है, उतना छोड़ दो।
अगर ठीक से समझें, तो वह धर्म टाइम-प्रॉडक्ट हो गया , समय से उत्पन्न हुआ। और जो समय से उत्पन्न होता है, वह कालातीत नहीं
होता। जिस चीज को समय के द्वारा पैदा किया जाता है, वह समय में ही नष्ट हो जाती है। ध्यान रखें, जो चीज समय के भीतर
जन्मती है, वह समय के भीतर ही मर जाती है। जिसका कोई एक छोर समय में है, उसका दूसरा छोर समय के बाहर नहीं हो सकता।
लेकिन शून्यता तत्क्षण हो सकती है–इसी वक्त,अभी। यह तत्क्षण कहना भी गलत है। असल में, शून्यता के बाहर घटित होती
है। भराव समय के भीतर होता है; रिक्तता समय के बाहर होती है। रिक्त होते ही समय के बाहर हैं आप। और रिक्त होने के लिए
समय की कोई जरूरत नहीं है।
इसलिए अगर लाओत्से के पास कोई जाकर पूछे कि मैंने बहुत पाप किए हैं, बहुत बुराइयां की हैं, मैं बहुत बुरा आदमी हूं, मेरी मुक्ति
में कितनी देर लगेगी ? तो लाओत्से कहता है, अभी हो सकती है, यहीं हो सकती है। लाओत्से कह सकता है, अभी हो सकती है, यहीं हो
सकती है। क्योंकि वह कहता है, सवाल यह नहीं है। तुम्हें कुछ होना नहीं है; तुम जो हो, उसको भी छोड देना है।
इसलिए लाओत्से ने कोई ख्याल नहीं दिया इस बात का कि कितने जन्म तुम्हें लगेंगे, कितना वक्त लगेगा। नहीं, लाओत्से कहता है,
अभी और यहीं। इसलिए लाओत्से ने जिस निर्वाण की बात की है, वह सडन एनलाइटेनमेंट है। अभी हो सकता है। इसमें क्षण भी
गंवाने की जरूरत नहीं है। हां, तुम्हीं न चाहते होओ, तो बात अलग है। और कोई बाधा नहीं है। लाओत्से कहता है, और कोई बाधा नहीं
है। तुम्हीं न चाहो, तो बात अलग है। और कोई बाधा नहीं है। और सब बहाने हैं।
