अब तक इस जगत में जितने परम ज्ञान की बातों का जन्म हुआ है, वे कोई भी बातें तर्क से पैदा नहीं हुईं; वे सभी बातें अंतदृष्टि से पैदा हुई हैं।
अब तक विज्ञान की विगत दो हजार वर्षो में जो भी खोज-बीन है, बड़े से बड़े वैज्ञानिक का कहना यही है कि जब मैं शिथिल होता हूं, रिलैक्स्ड होता हूं, तब न मालूम कैसे निष्कर्ष आ जाते हैं। कभी-कभी आपको भी अनुभव होता है। कोई नाम खो गया, स्मरण नहीं
आता है। बहुत कोशिश करते हैं, नहीं आता है। फिर छोड़ देते हैं, कुर्सी पर लेट जाते हैं, सिगरेट पीने लगते हैं, अखबार पढ़ने लगते हैं, या रेडियों खोल लेते हैं, या बगीचे में निकल कर जमीन खोदने लगते हैं। और अचानक जैसे भीतर से वह नाम, जो इतनी परेशानी से खोजते थे और याद नहीं आता था, भीतर से आ जाता है। यह बुद्धि का काम नहीं है। बुद्धि ने कोशिश कर ली थी; यह नहीं आ सका था।
लाओत्से कहता है, सोचोगे तो भटक जाओगे। मत सोेचो, और निष्कर्ष आ जाएगा। सोेचना छोड़ दो और प्रतीऺक्षा करो, और निष्कर्ष आ जाएगा। तुम सिर्फ प्रतीऺक्षा करो; प्रश्न तुम्हारे भीतर हो और तुम प्रतीऺक्षा करो; उत्तर मिल जाएगा। सोेचो मत। क्योंकि जब तुम सोेचोगे, तुम क्या पा सकोगे ? तुम्हारी सामर्थ्य कितनी है ? जैसे कोई एक लहर सोेचने लगे जगत की समस्याओं को, क्या सोेच पाएगी ? अच्छा है
कि सागर पर छोड़ दे और प्रतीऺक्षा करे कि सागर ही उत्तर दे दे।
