अहंकार भी ठीक चौबीस घंटे चलाइए , तो चलता है। मिटाने की कोई भी जरूरत नहीं है अहंकार को, सिर्फ चलाना बंद कर देना पर्याप्त है। लेकिन आमतौर से लोग पूछते हैं, अहंकार को कैसे मिटाएं ? अगर आपने कैसे मिटाया, तो आप मिटाने के लिए पैडल चलाने लगते हैं। उससे मिटता नहीं। अगर आपने मिटाने का पूछा, तो आप समझे ही नहीं। लेकिन शिक्षक समझाए जाते हैं लोगों को कि अहंकार को मिटाओ, क्योंकि लाओत्से जैसे लोगों को पढ़ लेते हैं। पढ़ लेना बहुत आसान है; उन्हें समझना बहुत मुश्किल है। पढ़ लेते हैं, तो एक ही खयाल आता है कि अहंकार को कैसे मिटाएं ! क्योंकि लाओत्से कहता है, अहंकार मिट जाए तो जीवन शाश्वत हो जाए , अमृत को उपलब्ध हो जाए । हमारे मन में भी लोभ पकड़ता है–लोभ,ज्ञान नहीं–लोभ पकड़ता है कि हम भी अमृत को कैसे उपलब्ध हो जाएं।!
कैसे वह जीवन हमें मिल जाए , जहां कोई मृत्यु नहीं है, कोई अंधकार नहीं है! कैसे हम शाश्वत चेतना को पा जाए! लोभ हमारे मन को पकड़ता है–ग्रीड ! और वह लोभ हमसे कहता है कि लाओत्से कहता है, अहंकार न रहे तो। तो वह लोभ हमसे कहता है, अहंकार
कैसे मिट जाए ! फिर हम मिटाने की कोशीश में लग जाते हैं। कोई घर छोड़ता है, कोई पत्नी को छोड़ता है, कोई धन छोड़ता है, कोई वस्त्र छोड़ता है,
कोई गांव छोड़ कर भागता है। फिर हम छोड़ कर भागने में लगते हैं कि शायद यह छोड़ने से मिट जाए । छोड़ने की भ्रांति इसलिए
पैदा होती है कि लगता है, जिससे हमारा अहंकार बड़ा हो रहा है, उसे छोड़ दें। महल है आपके पास, तो लगता है महल की वजह से मेरा अहंकार बड़ा है। और जब मैं झोपड़ी वाले के सामने से निकलता हूं, तो मेरा अहंकार मजबूत होता है, क्योंकि मेरे पास महल है।
इसलिए अहंकार कम करने वाले जो नासमझ हैं–मैं दोहराता हूं, अहंकार कम करने वाले जो नासमझ हैं –वे कहेंगे कि महल छोड़ दो,
तो अहंकार छूट जाएगा।
लेकिन आपको पता नहीं की महल को छोड़ कर जब कोई झोपड़ी के सामने से निकलता है, तब उसके पास महल वाले अहंकार से भी बड़ा अहंकार होता है। तब वह झोपड़ी में रहने वाले को ऐसा देखता है, जैसे पापी ! सड़ेगा नर्क में ! झोपड़ी भी नहीं छोड़ पा रहा और मैं महल छोड़ चुका हूं! वह महल छोड़ कर चला हुआ आदमी नया तेल जुटा लेता है। वह उस तेल से फिर अपनी बाती को जगा लेता है।
अंतर नहीं पड़ता। महल से किसी का अहंकार नहीं है। हां, अहंकार से महल खड़े होते हैं। लेकिन महलों से कोई अहंकार खड़ा नहीं होता। अहंकार किसी भी चीज का सहारा लेकर खड़ा हो जाता है। इसलिए असली सवाल यह है कि अहंकार प्रतिपल जो पैदा होता है, वह कैसे पैदा न हो।
कोई अहंकार की संपदा नहीं है, जिसे नष्ट करना है। अहंकार प्रतिपल पैदा होता है। उसमें हम रोज तेल भरते हैं, पानी सीचते हैं,
उसकी जडों को गहरा करते हैं। उसमें रोज पत्ते आते चले जाते हैं। वह हमारी रोज की मेंहनत है।

How to disappear! Then we start trying to erase. Some leave home, some leave a wife, some leave money, some leave clothes,
Some leave the village and run away. Then we leave and start running so that it might disappear by quitting. Quitting fallacy
It is born that it seems that our ego is getting bigger, leave it. You have a palace, so it seems that my ego is big because of the palace. And when I come out in front of the hut, my ego is strong, because I have a palace.
So those who are arrogant, who are mindless - I repeat, those who are arrogant, who are mindless - they will say leave the palace,
Then the ego will be lost.
But you do not know that when someone leaves the palace and comes out in front of the hut, then he has a bigger ego than the palace ego. Then he sees the hut living like a sinner! Rotten to hell! Can't even leave the hut and I have left the palace! The man leaving the palace collects new oil. He then wakes up his wick with that oil.
Does not matter. Nobody has arrogance from the palace. Yes, arrogance makes palaces stand up. But no arrogance arises from palaces. The ego stands up on the support of anything. Therefore, the real question is how the ego counterpart is born.
