लाओत्से कहता है, लेकिनन हमारा सबका मन चीजों को सीधे पाने का होता है, क्योंकि हमें विपरीत का कोई भी पता नहीं है। अगर
विपरीत का पता हो, तो हम उस महान कला को जान जाते हैं, जिसका नाम धर्म है।
धर्म कहता है, अगर तुम परम् जीवन पाना चाहते हो, तो तुम परम मृत्यु के लिए राजी हो जाओ। डाई दिस वेरी मोमेंट, इसी इसी क्षण मर जाओ, और परम जीवन तुम्हारा है! और धर्म कहता है, अगर तुम्हें ऐसा धन पाना है जिसे चोर न चुरा सकें, तो तुम बिलकुल निर्धन होने को ही अपना धन मान लो। और अगर तुम्हें ऐसी प्रतिष्ठा चाहिए जिसके विपरीत कोई उपाय नहीं है, तो तुम अपने ही हाथ से अप्रतिष्ठित हो जाओ।
लाओत्से कहता है, इस अस्तित्व में विरोधी श्वांस चल रही है, जैसे धौंकनी चलती हो लुहार की। इसमें वह एक बात पर जोर देता है कि जब धौंकनी खाली हो–इसे रिक्त कर दो, फिर भी इसकी शक्ति अखंडित रहती है–जब धौंकनी बिलकुल रिक्त होती है, तब यह
मत समझना की उसकी शक्ति टूट गई; उसकी शक्ति अखंडत होती है, पूर्ण होती है। शून्य के पास पूर्ण की शक्ति होती है।
शून्य के पास पूर्ण की शक्ति ?
धर्म निरंतर यह कहता रहा है कि अगर विराट को पाना है, तो सूक्ष्म को पाना पड़ेगा। धर्म सदा उलटी बात बोलता रहा है। अब
विज्ञान ने भी थोड़ी समझ शुरू की है। धर्म कहता है, विराट को पाना है, तो सूक्ष्म पाना पड़ेगा। परमात्मा को पाना है, तो भीतर जो
आत्मा का अणु छिपा है, उसे पाना पड़ेगा। जो आदमी परमात्मा को सीधे खोजने जाएगा, वह कभी नहीं खोज पाएगा। अपने को खो दे बस , परमात्मा को कभी नहीं खोज पाएगा। जिस आदमी को परमात्मा को खोजना है, उसे परमात्मा को तो भूल ही जाना चाहिए ; सूक्ष्म के भीतर वह जो छोटा सा अणु छिपा है जीवन का, उसे खोज लेना चाहिए । उसे खोजते ही परमात्मा मिल जाता है। अणु को पकड़ लेना विराट को पकड़ लेना है।
ऋषि सदा कहते रहे हैं, इस जगत का जन्म शून्य से हुआ है। तभी इतने विराट का फैलाव हो सकता है! इतने चाँद- तारे, अरबों-अरबों
चाँद-तारे शून्य से ही पैदा हो सकते हैं।
महावीर कहते हैं, जो व्यक्ति शून्य हो जाए , वह अनंत ऊर्जा का मालिक हो जाता है। अनंत, इनफिनिट का मालिक हो जाता है!
