बुद्धि की समझ से रूपांतरण नहीं होता,क्रांति नहीं होती। क्योंकि बुद्धि बहुत छोटा सा हिस्सा है व्यक्तित्व का; और
व्यक्तित्व बहुत बड़ी बात है। और बुद्धि जिसे समझ लेती है, उसका यह अर्थ नहीं है कि आपका व्यक्तित्व, आपका प्राण, आप उसे समझ गए ।
ध्यान रहे कि मन में जितना गहरा हिस्सा होता है, उतना ताकतवर होता है। परिधि पर, सर्कमफरेंस पर ताकत नहीं होती; ताकत सेंटर में होती है। जिसको हम बुद्धि कहते हैं, वह हमारी सर्कमफरेंस है, परिधि है, घर के बाहर का परकोटा है; वहां कोई खजाने नहीं रखता। खजाने तो उस तिजोरी में दबे होते हैं, जो घर का भीतरी से भीतरी अंतरंग है। तो हमारे जीवन की ऊर्जा तो अंतरंग में छिपी है। और बुद्धि हमारे दरवाज़े पर खड़ी है। इसी बुद्धि से पढ़ते हैं, इसी बुद्धि से सुनते हैं, इसी बुद्धि से समझते हैं।
तो लाओत्से जब कहता है, समझ में आ जाए तो रूपांतरण हो जाता है, तो वह कह रहा है, उस सेंटर की समझ में आ जाए –वह जो
आपके भीतर, अंतरस्थ बैठा हुआ है ,अंतिम, मालिक है, उसकी समझ में आ जाए –तो क्रांति हो जाती है।
अब हमारी कठिनाई भी स्वाभाविक है, वास्तविक है, कि हमें लगता है समझ में आ गया फिर क्रांति तो होती नहीं। हम वहीं के वहीं खड़े रह जाते हैं। और इस तथाकथित समझ से और एक उपद्रव शुरू होता है। वह उपद्रव यह होता है कि अब हम द्वैत में बंट जाते हैं। मन भीतर से कुछ करवाता है, हम कुछ करना चाहते हैं। वह कभी होता नहीं। होता वही है, जो भीतर से आता है। और फिर आखिर में पश्चाताप दीनता और हीनता मन को पकड़ती है। और अपनी ही आखों में आदमी गिरता जाता है। उसे लगता है
कि मैं कुछ भी नहीं हूं, किसी कीमत का नहीं हूं। तो यह जो समझ है हमारी , लाओत्से इसके संबंध में नहीं कह रहा है। यह इंटलेक्चुअल जो अंडरस्टैंडिंग है, यह धोखा है समझ का। यह ऐसा ही है, जैसे कोई कहे कि अगर वृक्ष को जल मिल जाए , तो उसमें फूल आ जाते हैं। हम जाकर वृक्ष के पत्तों पर जल छिड़क आएं । फिर फूल न आए, तो हम कहें कि हमने तो जल छिड़का, फूल नहीं आए ; जाहिर है कि जिसने कहा था, गलत था। और या फिर हमने जो जल छिड़का, वह जल न था। स्वभावतः हमारे सामने सवाल उठेगा,फूल तो नहीं आए।
तो दो बात समझ लें। एक तो यह कि जिसको आप समझ कहते हैं, वह केवल तार्किक,शब्दिक,बौद्धिक है; आंतरिक नहीं, आत्मिक नहीं, समग्र नहीं। आपके प्राणों तक वह जाती नहीं। और इसलिए रूपांतरण नहीं होता। बात बिलकुल समझ में आ जाती है, और आप वहीं के वहीं खड़े रह जाते हैं, कहीं कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता।

Now our difficulty is also natural, real, that we think it is understood that revolution does not happen. We stand right there. And from this so-called understanding and a nuisance begins. The disturbance is that now we are divided into duality. The mind makes us do something from within, we want to do something. He never happens. That is what comes from within. And then finally repentance humbles and inferiority captures the mind. And the man falls in his own eyes. She feels
That I am nothing, of no cost. So this is our understanding, Lao Tzu is not saying this. This intellectual, which is understanding, is a deception of understanding. It is just like if someone says that if the tree gets water, then flowers grow in it. Let us go and sprinkle water on tree leaves. If the flowers do not come, then we will say that we have sprinkled water, the flowers have not come; Apparently whoever said that was wrong. Or else the water we sprinkled was not water. Naturally the question will arise in front of us, the flowers have not come.
So let's understand two things. One is that what you call understanding is only logical, verbal, intellectual; Not internal, not spiritual, not holistic. She does not even go to your life. And so there is no conversion. The matter is perfectly understood, and you stand there, no matter what.
