लाओत्से कहता है, बात समझ में आ जाए , तो करने को कुछ बाकी नहीं रह जाता। समझ ही फिर करवा देती है, जो करने योग्य है।
और जो करने योग्य नहीं है, वह गिर जाता है,झर जाता है, जैसे सूखे पत्ते वृक्ष से गिर जाएं। जो न करने योग्य है, उसे रोकने के लिए कुछ नहीं करना पड़ता; जो करने योग्य है, उसे करने के लिए कुछ नहीं करना पड़ता। जो करने योग्य है, वह होने लगता है; जो न
करने योग्य है, वह नहीं होना शुरू हो जाता है।
यह समझ क्या चीज है? क्योंकि पूछते हैं कि समझ में आता हुआ मालूम पड़ता है,लेकिन जिस क्रांति की बात कहता है लाओत्से, वह
तो घटित नहीं होती। तो इससे दो ही मतलब हो सकते हैं: या तो लाओत्से जो कहता है, वह गलत कहता है; और या फिर जिसे हम समझ समझ लेते हैं , वह समझ नहीं है।
लाओत्से तो गलत नहीं कहता। लाओत्से तो इसलिए गलत नहीं कहता कि उसने जो कहा है, वह अकेले उसने ही नहीं कहा है; इस
पृथ्वी पर जितने भी जानने वाले लोग हुए हैं, उन सब ने वही कहा है। जिन्हें लाओत्से का पता भी नहीं है–चाहे यूनान में सुकरात
कहता हो, तो यही कहता है; चाहे बुद्ध कहते हों भारत में, यही कहते हैं–जहां भी कभी कोई जानने वाले ने कुछ कहा है, उसने यही
कहा है कि समझ काफी है।
