लाओत्से जिन दिनों की बात कर रहा है, वह उन दिनों की बात है, जब ज्ञानी अपने दर्शन को निःशब्द में समझाते थे। जितने पीछे हम लौट जाएंगे, उतना ही साधना पांडित्य नहीं है। जितने पीछे हम लौटेंगे, साधना पांडित्य नहीं है। साधना मौन होने का अभ्यास है। और पांडित्य तो शब्द से भरने का अभ्यास है।
और जैसे-जैसे इतिहास में हम आगे हटें, वैसे हमें पता चलेगा की ज्ञानी कर्म में उतर रहा है। बुद्ध और महाबीर भी हमें बहुत कर्मठ
नहीं मालूम पड़ते ।
आज जिसे हम महात्मा कहते हैं, वह महात्मा ज्ञानी नहीं है। उसका महात्मा होना भी इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि वह क्या करता
है। उसका महात्मा होना उसके शुद्ध अस्तित्व पर निर्भर नहीं करता। उसका महात्मा होना उसके बीइंग पर निर्भर नहीं, उसके डूइंग
पर निर्भर है, वह क्या करता है ! सवाल यह नहीं है की व्हाट ही इज़, सवाल यह है की व्हाट ही इज़ डूइंग, उसने क्या किया ? उसका
ब्मोरा क्या है ?
अगर आज हम पूछें कि लाओत्से ने क्या किया ? तो कोई भी व्योरा नहीं है। करने के नाम पर लाओत्से की जिंदगी बिलकुल खाली है।
